FAQs regarding Damp Proofing

Below you will find FAQs regarding damp proofing which we hope will answer some of your questions.

All estimates are usually valid for 30 days. In the majority of cases this is unlikely to alter however we may choose to revisit the property free of charge and confirm this.

We offer guarantees for a period of up to 25 years which is the longest period in our industry for more information please visit our guarantees page.

Yes this option is available, it is something many of our builder and property developer clients like to take advantage of. We can also offer additional options for clients to reduce costs by hacking off plaster and removing rubbish themselves. For more details please visit our builders and plasterers page.

Alternatively you discuss with one of our surveyors.

Painting and Wallpapering: As soon as plaster is dry usually within 3 to 4 days however in some cases it can take up to two weeks to dry. We can usually advise on this after plaster has been removed.

Yes (with the exception of basements or where rendering takes place). Same guidelines apply as for painting.

Yes. £5 million public liability and employers liability insurance for all employees.

Normally no. However, this is something we would assess and advise on a case by case basis as it depends on the extent of works, age and personal circumstances of occupants. (e.g elderly / pregnant, small children) we try as far as is reasonably practicable to keep disruption to a minimum during the works. Dust settlement after the completion of works is unavoidable, and it can take several days to cease, although ventilating the property accelerates this significantly. We will discuss this with you prior to any work commencing.

North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear and many parts of Northumberland (Ashington, Bedlington Blyth, Cramlington, Newbiggin-by-the-sea and surrounding areas).
We are able to carry out work in any area of UK however there may be a charge for initial inspection which will be refunded or discounted from final invoice on completion of works.

National companies often have higher overheads; sales managers, large offices, business rates and sometimes sub contract work out so need to account for their mark up.

Sometimes the reason is smaller companies, usually single person operators will have lower overheads than us but more often than not the main reason is that a cheaper price suggests a less effective treatment method. For more information please visit our Why Choose Us page.
