Damp Proofing Guarantees

Tyne Tees Damp Proofing visits countless properties where damp proofing has failed. Furthermore where the contractor/company that carried out the original work has overlooked something during initial inspection. Similarly where the contractor has not carried out work correctly or is no longer in business.

Warning

When choosing a damp proofing contractor, the following highlighted in red are common with many companies:

Only offering a product guarantee where the products are guaranteed, but not the labour / installation. Some companies even use products that are non BBA approved.

All of our guarantees include material and labour, and all of our damp proofing products are BBA approved. For physical barrier, we use only the highest quality 3mm membrane. Additionally this which comes with 25 year product guarantee. Please click here for product specification sheet.

Offering clients third party / insurance backed guarantees when insurance /underwriting companies rely on renewal premiums for continued cover. In the event of a contractor failing to meet these payments any third-party / insurance-backed guarantee becomes null and void.

The fundamental strength of a Westminster Protected Guarantee is that it is issued entirely independently of both the Chemical Manufacturing Company and the Approved Contractor. Additionally, it does not rely on renewal premiums having to be paid to insurance/underwriting companies for continued cover.

Not guaranteeing chimney breasts or salt contamination.

Companies trading without insurance.

We carry full public liability insurance up to £5 million.

Companies being unvetted, not allowing them to be approved to issue either Insurance backed or protected guarantees.

We are both Platinum and Westminster approved contractors. Therefore we are fully vetted by both allowing us to issue 25 year protected guarantees on all damp proofing and timber work above ground level.

Work not being guaranteed should client choose to use their own plasterer or replaster themselves.

Because we use a stud membrane as physical barrier instead of other inferior methods clients are allowed to do or arrange their own plastering and our damp proofing work will not be affected.

Guarantees only being valid of 10 to 20 Years for rising damp. No guarantee for basement waterproofing / tanking.

We offer 30 year company and 25 year protected guarantees for damp proofing and timber work above ground floor level.

Any work carried out below ground level such as basement waterproofing / tanking, we are only able to offer a company guarantee of 10 years. (This is industry standard with insurance companies so no other company is able to offer longer term).

Guarantees not being transferable to future owners of property or charging for transfer and without this fee being paid not honouring guarantee.

Both our company and third party guarantees provide cover for a 30 period from the date the work was completed. This guarantee provides cover on the property not the owner. If you decide to sell your property the guarantee is automatically transferred without charge to the new owner.
